Duck eggs are my favorite, the producers are wonderfully quirky companions as well!
Truth! I've had a couple of flocks over the past 8-10 years. Duck eggs are my fave, too!
Mine are mischievous escape artists. They have showed me that I need to upgrade/replace my fence.
Not generally quite as challenging as swine, I think only perhaps buffalo are worse than them, but yeah. đ
Truth about hogs! We had 2x hogs when I was a kid. Dad wouldnât let me feed them b/c I guess he thought pigs eat âanythingâ. We had a cow and a calf who, like the pigs, ended up in our freezer. Cow & calf were well-tempered.
Wise dad, if you fell and were knocked unconscious in the pen it could be really bad. I once shot a ram that showed up in our goat herd and threw the carcass in with two medium red waddle pigs. They ate the entire thing, all but the biggest bones in three days.
