Custodial lighting seems to be working well.

Non-custodial lightning atm does seem like a failure as 99% of lightning users are using custodial wallet. Whole idea of bitcoin was to remove trust.

What Udi is criticizing is that Lightning has no product market fit. Is that the case? I don’t think so.

He’s using hyperbole to make his point.

I don’t like him. But there is some merit to what he is saying.

Lightning was suppose to be user friendly and encourage non-custodial adoption. 99% of ln wallet users are using a custodial wallet. In its current form Lightning can not mathematically scale to 8 billion users. Whole idea of btc in the white paper was to not need to trust anybody.

This is why I am fan of BIp300. Allows for more opportunities to scale and make non-custodial wallet onboarding much easier than lightning.

Not a matter of liking or not liking him.

That he uses hyperbole is not in discussion here. That hyperbole is a rhetorical tactic is also not in discussion.

I’m just pointing out the core of his criticism. You have another contention point, which is fair, but it’s not his.

Brothers, there's this thing called eltoo. It allows for channel factories. Add in CTV, you get to receive payments while offline

Both are soft forks. Quit advocating for nonproductive restarts, learn about the proposals that actually allow for secure scaling, and pass on the word!

PS: CTV is NOT recursive.
