I wouldn’t entirely agree with that, mental capability yes, community algorithm no, but if your mental algorithm is strong enough you can shape the communities algorithms as you see fit so indirectly you said something to think about.
Yes and I and acknowledge we are talking in the abstract here but none the less.
Our mental/ intellectual/being “algorithm” is in our control ( who we are or want to be at the core) , community algorithms (conventional wisdom / advice /community opinions/ customs etc) we have some influence over these as you alluded to especially if our ways resonate with many others( strong enough). What we do always have available is the ability to accept or reject these other ideas into our way of being ( our algorithm) . Keeping the helpful, discarding the unhelpful or superfluous. ( this requires awareness and critical thinking of course). I wonder to the extent we can do this, does it help with influencing others on a small and larger scale, positive reinforcing feedback loop? I think it helps the individual.
