Backstory and then a quick question for the LN experts of the world.

I’ve been using small amounts of Sats in a custodial lightning environment for quite a while: works as intended, especially on Nostr!

From there, I recently dipped my toe into a couple small channels, using my own node. As expected, they closed pretty quickly but it was just an experiment. I am looking to support more vendors who accept Sats whenever possible, and would like to increase my liquidity with my first larger channel.

Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone personally (IRL) who runs their own node. Can anyone provide some insight on a channel I might want to lookup on Amboss Space/1ml, or are there any “go-to” channels for the first opening of a larger channel?
