We had a guy who was near retirement age stop by our meetup tonight. Hardcore into Ethereum. We told him our meet up was bitcoin only but we let him join. It was sad to see his commitment. Mostly bc he retired, got rugged by crypto, had to go back to work, and heβs still hasnβt learned.
Crypto preys on people who feel desperate, with promises of unattainable quick wealth. Many who end up in it jump from one token to another based on whatever marketing message resonates with them at that particular time. Nearly all of them claim to have some advantage over bitcoin, either in the technology or the community. We dedicate a substantial amount of time at our meetups discussing the differences, but itβs no substitute for self-driven education.
