It’s probably not as bad if you get used to it, but I don’t give it enough time / usage to get used to it. Every time I use android it’s painful

Its bad for non-devs, but that's the nature of "free, open" stuff. For good design, you need to pay good designers and devs to implement them.

Otherwise its just people doing cool stuff in their free time, its never going to match what companies paying out millions can do.

They can always give a better experience and do it cheaper and earn in "other ways".

Designing something and implementing the design are two completely different things. Also OS' like graphene might not want to implement it for various reasons.
