I’m done with the centralized blue bird. Elon had a shot at incorporating ⚡️ and he fumbled it. Nostr is way better even in its infancy than Twitter ever will be.
I’ve kept it for a couple of accounts I follow but doesn’t seem like there will be much point anymore if replies are pushed to the bottom because I don’t pay for Blue.
The solution he is looking for are zaps
I guess it’s not a bad idea in principle because for every tweet there’s probably 20 bot replies for scams. This will make people less likely to fall for them. But it’s still cringe. 😬
But the problem with that is that they are not addressing the root cause (spam bots), and are merely just bumping them down.
Yeah I agree. I think it will help with the bot problem but at the expense of a lot of peoples replies not getting any visibility, and it doesn’t address the root cause of the bot issue. I would personally pay for Blue if there was real value in it but I don’t think it’s worth the price just to have replies bumped up higher.
I think it's a good idea. Not too much different of an idea than paid relays
