Elon Musk's logo for "X" is a Unicode Character “𝕏” (U+1D54F).

The letter X belongs to the public domain. The word apple was also in the public domain. It is the original use of this name to designate a computer company that is proprietary.

According to our trademark law, if X has not previously been used to refer to a social media company, Elon Musk is entitled to use it to rename Twitter.
