The entire tech community is sleeping on Nostr. They just don’t get it.

Yes, and imagine trying to explain to them how to integrate. A hundred nested if-then statements.

Tech bro hears about Nostr.

Installs Primal.

Trending is all bots.

Comments are filled with bots.

Tech bro uninstalls Primal.

Rinse. Repeat.

This is what you see today 😂

You’re not wrong.

Users I’ve muted with other clients still show up got me on Primal sometimes. I don’t understand why, but that is happening.

My guess is the caching.

There are also private and public mute lists. Some clients use one, or the other, or both.

Imagine a personalized WoT relay that decides what goes on your feed, trending lists, recommended follows, etc, and the client fetches that from your personal relay. Which means that if you want mute to mean mute, then it does bc you control your relay.

I’m betting it’s less to do with bots but more with the general network effects. People try new things and unless they are absolutely addicting the moment they try them, there’s little incentive to come back. And if you don’t follow anyone or come with company you’re left looking at global monstrosity or at best a bunch of bitcoin content

It sure isn't helping 😂

Maybe because it's hard to monetize, and the tech community is largely people driven either directly or indirectly by money from corporations
