Starting out after a long break from the gym. Any recommended amount of time for recovery?

prioritizing muscle growth, and given a long break from lifting, I'd say 48 hours per muscle group conservatively.

i am absolutely not an expert, but i have found Mike Mentzer's approach to be feasible and has been showing results (been at it for like ~2 months)

Yeh that makes sense. My only issue with YouTubers and body builders is they are on steroids 90% of the time.
