But I can say that I have a great relationship with Xi Jinping. We want them to come and invest. I see many saying we don’t want China here. That’s not right. We want them to invest in the U.S., and we will invest in China."

Trump has ushered in a new era where alliances no longer exist. Either countries secure themselves (through nuclear weapons) or they will face the same fate as Ukraine and, apparently, Taiwan.

Possibly. I think it’s mostly Trump-style diplomacy to get some concessions out of allies. I.e. Europe needs to pay more for defense. For Taiwan he may be looking for some semiconductor deal. Not sure.
