So I have my node all synced and running. I opened a channel up through lnbig.com
Channels are a bit confusing for me though. How many should I have? Why wouldn’t all users share their node ids and open channels between them? If some one could give me some info on the topic that would be awesome.
1ML https://1ml.com has lots of stats on nodes where you can select some nodes for channels. I had about ten channels for my node. - Opening channels has a cost associated with it: your time and transaction fees for opening and closing. Also consider privacy and possibly use Tor.
