That’s the whole point is that it is custodial. But it is custodied by someone you trust. Not WoS, not Trust wallet, etc. It would be run by your best friend who runs his own node. Or your Uncle Jim. If you already are doing self custody, it’s not aimed at you.
Well that should help bring the masses on board then
