Miscellaneous
As previously announced, the next version of Eulora is still on track to go live later this month. Unlike the previous release, this will be a beta version, numbered 0.1.0. Most of the game mechanics will be presenti, and in general it is our expectation that the world of 0.1.0 will attain permanence.ii
As part of the preparations, the test server that had been available to the interested public will be offline to allow for necessary upgrades. The previous inventories, achievements etc will be wiped.
After careful consideration I have taken the strategic decision to only allow new accounts be registered on the basis of presence in assbot's WoT at this time. So,
if you do already have an account registered with assbot, send me a message containing your intended name (two words, letters only, no honorifics, the second of which will be your clan name and thus permanent throughout the game's history, whereas the first will change every time your avatar changes) and I'll create your account.
if you do not have an account with assbot, look into generating a pgp key and registering. You will likely find that once you take this step, an entire universe opens up that you hadn't even imagined possible before.
Note that you will not actually have to pay anything to play during this beta release. On one hand the game includes coin generators which will allow you to finance your explorations, and the part where characters need to eat (or can die) has not really been implemented yet. Nevertheless you may deposit some Bitcents if you so wish, which will make you outrageously rich for a while. In principle you should be able to also withdraw these at a later date, but bear in mind this is by no means yet guaranteed.iii
