Yeah IDK what to think on this one. Those blades can't have a bur and can't have any hairline microscopic cracks or random stuff can hide out there. There's also a risk of prion diseases since autoclaves don't get hot enough to actually neutralize the protein. I expect prions to be the "big one" problem of our kids' generation.

It seems deactivation of prions on surgical equipment is relatively straightforward and only applies used equipment. I can't find any cases of people getting infected from random pieces of metal or from disposable scalpels.
