There’s no redeeming value being on traditional social media. It’s all ever been nothing but a scam to begin with. They collect your data, you sacrifice your privacy, they make money via advertising.

“there’s no redeeming qualities” that’s objective, it’s person to person.
for me, facebook marketplace furnished my whole apartment, which is pretty redeeming, twitter has been a tool for my local st. louis community to interact and create positive change in the city, instagram has helped promote my family and friends events, and basically skyrocketed a rave in stl from 20 ppl going, to over 2500 people attending every month all because of a simple instagram marketing strategy and promotion.
nostr is great, just not big enough to accomplish every single redeeming quality that helps mine, and my family& friends lives on a day to day basis. YET!
on the privacy and data,it’s understandable but no matter what you do, you will have your data sold. you can have zero social media and there will still be data of yours to sell. there’s no running from it, until there are viable alternatives for everything, it’s just useless to worry about it.
