you don't lose it.

you only lose two times transaction fee.

otherwise it gets used by the LN System.

it's just locked in.

A lightning node is a hot wallet, that can be hacked and sent away.

it can be hacked if it isn't secured correctly.

Even then, the tech is so new, some will get hacked with zeroday bugs that have to be in such volume of unreviewed FOSS.

Just a matter of time.

It’s just not worthwhile for hackers to do yet.
