Oh wow, just finished watching that documentary an hour ago or so...
Surprising to see a professional economist saying that tariffs can be a good thing. Was part of my economics 101 that they are totally bad. The problem with using empiricism to argue that tariffs have been good historically is that a country might have prospered despite the tariffs.
Anyway, we will have more empirical evidence soon...
