Ya basically just like custodial bitcoin. But probably with a couple advantages. Not against ecash, just looking for use cases.

It has use cases. But its not the ultimate solution that many proponents make it out to be

I consider it a transitionary technology until self custody is better, anything more then bitcoin has failed

Build a better noncustodial solution. I'll wait. πŸ’…

Yea, thats obviously the solution moron. But custodial honeytraps are easier so the low IQ shills such as yourself are easily herded into the silos

This is the killer use case. Onboard someone to bitcoin in 30 seconds.

What app you use?

How's it different from wallet of satoshi

Ecash has way better privacy than WoS and other pure lightning custodial solutions. Still all the same tradeoffs that come with giving up custody though, of course

I use minibits myself, btw. Usually great, but they havent updated their mint and are currently being DOS'd so I dont have access to those funds currently πŸ˜‰

Can you describe your issue regarding access to your funds?

cashu.me is easiest because you don't have to ask any questions. It's the lowest friction solution usually but it's not uncommon to have issues with the camera permissions. This happened yesterday with the uber driver.

I have also had issues with iphone lockdown mode failing to render the correct fonts. It's not a dealbreaker but it looks ugly and is not the best first impression to make.

Best is to switch to a thick client app in this case. For android I recommend minibits, macadamia on iPhone. But the best wallet keeps changing. eNuts is making a comeback for iPhone. Minibits also just launched on iPhone iirc.

I'm not an iphone user so I just crowdsource app recommendations. YMMV

Wallet of satoshi rebuilt on top of spark wallet. It has absolutely horrifying privacy properties. Like 1000x worse than their old custodial lightning architecture. They just publish everyone's transaction data publicly. Kind of astonishing for a 'bitcoin' company, honestly.

The tradeoff is that they have offline receive to static addresses with stablecoin support. My recommendation is don't fuck with WoS. Just say no. It's a ticking time bomb.

I have other thoughts but I haven't seriously inspected the architecture. I suspect spark wallets are going to get absolutely rekt when fees go up again. Like a repeat of the first lightning winter when plebs were getting force closed right and left but even worse due to spark's design.

Have a fat zap for asking good questions, sir or madam. 🀝

And then rug them in 5. Horray, financial independence! πŸ˜‚

Yep. I can onboard someone in about 10 seconds with #nostr #safebox and immediately pay them. I’ve onboarded about a dozen people over the last couple of weeks. All Cashu behind the scenes but looks and acts like a regular Lightning wallet.
