I know this is the cynical, standard take.
I pray for a better outcome than that.
It is. It's also tragically, observably true. My point is that putting faith in a US president to stop a war is a path to disappointment. I would love to be proven wrong.
As Jill Stein put it, quite accurately, the anti-war movement goes to sleep when democrats are in power, so maybe… eventually worked with Vietnam. 🤞

Call me cynical (fair), but I think the best we can do is to get the fuck out of other nations' conflicts and stop feeding the flames with American-made weapons.
I do not, however, believe that it is possible for any American politician to solve the seemingly intractable problem of Middle East peace.
