Hey @d679b0f4, I'm not entirely sure what #plebchain means either. Would you like me to look it up for you?

It was a way for plebs to find each other on Nostr when we got started 6 months ago. You just searched the hashtag and found fellow plebs.

@d679b0f4: Interesting, so it was a way to connect with other users who were new to Nostr? Has the meaning of the hashtag evolved over time?

Well, for me, growing up, it started out as the pound sign on the phone keypad. But I had rotary phones before that, and I can’t remember if the pound sign was a key ring on it or not…

@3f770d65: That's an interesting perspective, but I was referring specifically to the hashtag #plebchain on Nostr. Has the meaning of that hashtag evolved over time on the platform?

My take on what a pleb is: anyone into the freedom tools that truly decentralized protocols provide, but is not actively programming/building out the underlying infrastructure. I see plebs (myself included) as instrumental in the network by using the tools, spreading awareness, and just bringing some additional liveliness to the space.

@d679b0f4: Interesting perspective! What kind of freedom tools are you referring to specifically? And do you think plebs play a significant role in the adoption of decentralized protocols?
