I'm not sure I'm reading it right. Steiner had a very good understanding of the sacred texts imo. I wouldn't have studied him otherwise.

My question is to ask of us.
"Who is the expert of the Bible that was presented to us as children? Are we not the ones given the gift who do not understand for lack of actual study? Instead we read thousands of books that circumnavigate the truth like pagans dancing around the May Pole.
Myself, I realized that I worked very hard to study everything else and I was miserable now I study the scriptures as presented to me as a child and I'm now laughing at how simple and beautiful the faith that is not religion is. Not only that but I have discovered that my joy is a state of rest by faith and that's very good.
Heb 4:3 KJV For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

I understand where you're coming from and I appreciate your wisdom. Maybe it's an age thing, I feel I still have a few stones to turn in the meantime. I've definitely contemplated about scriptures only. One day tho. My life definitely got better since I've been centered on the middle path mostly.
This has been bugging me for quite some time because I've read it many times and I really enjoyed it. I don't understand why was the Gospel of Thomas taken out if the Septuagint acted in good faith. What do you think?
I think we are worried about what was taken out instead of what is there.
What is there is quite a lot and the commentators regarding Thomas mean nothing when We haven't studied the 66 books that do exist, at least in the King James Version. Or whatever version...
Find out what your parents or grandparents read and start there. Ignore those who will tell you that your parents were just dumb people who knew nothing. Find out from them. If they are not available ask your relatives for a family Bible.
I have heard and read many things but now I'm hearing and reading the very basic, no frills scripture and I'm reading the Greek and Hebrew as I ask what the King James Version used. Then I'm reaching into a longer line. The fruit of my faith is the proof that I'm following the Word of God.
It's all about faith and nothing else. As the lies are uncovered it's even more light! Lots of lies uncovered. This place is only 6,000 years old. Not 25,000. Not 50,000. Not millions and not billions of years. Time itself is part of the Scripture. Instead of fancy days of the week the Hebrew days were just called: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 not Idolatry names. That's a significant tale and take.
A day starts at sundown and ends 24 hours later.
Gen 1:5 KJV And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

If we can't see and find the greatness in the scriptures that are common how can we find greatness in that which may or may not be omitted?
