you can self host with nostr infact it works better than the fedi

there is not really much point to self host nostr tho as a local backup achieves most of the same benefit
you can backup yours or anyones content on nostr and just reupload it or host if you must
nostr is permissionless so all content can stand on its own from any server
it is pratically unstoppable, it makes the fedi look weak by comparison
your content can live forever with nostr
