Some folks are mad that #noStrudel has added a colored border around people's avatars. I really like this idea. My only concern is each person's display color profile might be different, resulting in people thinking someone's colored border is a different shade of the color than it really is and then get freaked out when they access noStrudel from a different device and see a different colored border than they're expecting.

Otherwise, I don't think my concern is that big of a worry and using the first 6 characters of the hex key to derive a color code is a pretty cool way to try and combat impostors. Well done nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr

And I still hope all clients one day try this idea or show a "first active" profile data like nostr.band site or a "previously known as" like Nostur, as additional means to identify impostors.

I had this in damus as the key color and people kept asking what the color meant and I eventually just removed it for my sanity 😆

Now that you mention it, I do remember that! It'd be nice to add it back imo, but maybe with a guided tour of Damus at onboarding that highlights specific elements of a user's profile and tooltip tells them what it means?
