IMHO Szabo's hypothesis has not been put to the test yet.

Nostr proves that one-tap-zaps can work for donations.

When paywalls are as simple as that, people will complain more about the stupid cookie pop-up than the 10 sats paid in one click to read an article.

I personally would much prefer a 10 sat in one click payment than a 30 second unskippable ad.

Maybe that's just me... but I suspect I'm not the only one.
