If you ever wondered? The 3rd largest barrier reef on the planet is functionally extinct. This is what it looks like before it’s gone.

This heat finished it off, it’s done. So we have 2 left, for now. I get to see what happens post extinction. That’s gonna be weird.

No you were not told, no there was no alarm. It just crashed from 80 to 70 down down to 2% this year and still? No emergency, no fisheries management. Now? 1% or less of the reef is covered. It’s all rubble and debris otherwise.

It ain’t coming back either.

nostr:npub14nhum7zztntjxx6mnzxzh8h9daepak9vwwlx2j6chjq3ltycmavq5gxf7n i thought they were putting old busses and stuff like that down there to encourage expansion;

I also thought it was sun screen lotion that was killing the reefs.

Why haven't we learned how to eject heat into space yet?

And would decarbonizing the water around it help at all?
