I never quite understood the Tether FUD in relation to bitcoin's price.

Bitcoin is the exit.

Was it maybe that it could impact lightning efficiency/reach/success and that could be compromised if Tether fails?

I always thought they were saying Tether's printed out of thin air & it pumps bitcoin.

I can see a weak argument about it being needed as an a bitcoin on ramp. It won't stop people finding the exit though.
