We did the Vatican yesterday and were blown away. Unfortunately we just arrived and had only slept 2 hours on the plane. Also, it was 101 and I was in pants for the Vatican. I wish I knew they didn’t enforce their “knees covered” policy in the Sistine Chapel. Still worth every second.
Wonderful! I've never been inside any of the buildings, only in the square and the surrounding area but next time I visit Rome, I'll definitely go inside.
If you have a chance, go to Assisi and Perugia too, wonderful towns. Or move to Italy permanently and spend the rest of your life exploring it 😉
