I’ve never had interest in looking at the performance of a note. I just read the content of the note. The number of other people who replied or zapped doesn’t influence my decision to reply or zap.

I figured someone would say that. Sometimes I just want to see how people are reacting to a note with an edgy statement. I want to feel like there are others seeing that note and reacting to it. I feel like regardless of how each of us interact with the notes, it shouldn’t be the default use case to “hide” that information or make the user take that extra step to see information that they could’ve seen at a glance.
It’s not hiding it, your phone just hasn’t cached it yet.
If you want to see the popular notes, use a client that has trending notes, most zapped notes, etc.
I am not the typical user. I don’t care about followers. I don’t care about likes. I care about #zaps !
I follow labels like #asknostr #coffeechain and #plebchain so I see a constant stream of notes from plebs.
I don’t seek engagement, I engage. Relentlessly replying is my mode of operation.
That’s why I added the quotes around the word “hide”. I know it’s not purposefully evil or anything like that. But sounds like something fixable I’m asking to be fixed based on how I use social media. Idk what to answer to the rest of the note, congratulations (?)
Yeah, use primal. It has a backend doing all the work you want. Mysterious magic behind the curtain. There was an interesting back and forth between primal dev and Damus dev yesterday that got heated. You can read the nuances of using a client with a backend.
Sent you a DM about said back and forth.
