Right now we are getting them as pets for the kids with the added benefit of manure production for compost, garden fertility, and worm bins. I would like to do meat rabbits but my wife is not ready to eat rabbits.

Are you thinking cages? Colony? Cages allows you to control breeding etc. Check out the rabbitry center on YouTube. Bobby knows his stuff. Also an older blog called rise and shine rabbitry has excellent info

I’m thinking cages for now. We may move to colony later, I like the idea of it but I’m not ready to let them start having babies all over the place. I’ll check out those resources, thanks!
