We all should be allowed to do whatever we want, but we should also all be striving towards more choice, and my problem with ______ is that it removes choice. It is literally impossible for me to choose to not to be exposed to it

Possibly not. It is true that to be open frank and expose personal life to the public can attract many risks. The main point may be to be aware of those risks; that would be a minimal cost of using ways of communication, such as words.
