I like where you are coming from, but a bit simplistic. You want a more market driven and clear rules, but it is hard to define rules that work across such a huge country with so many different priorities. I appreciate that you aren't just saying "no government" which is a common refrain

Yes, definitely over simplified but the spirit is there I think. The team should not be playing the referees. The refs should not have their own team. Refs should just be there to enforce the rules.
Everyone hates a sporting event where the ref becomes the story, or plays a crucial part in deciding the outcome.
But yeah, I also agree that “no government” is too often used (despite how much I wish this to be true, sometimes). I think there must be some government, but their role should be primarily to enforce the agreed upon rules.
