Hoovervilles are making a hell of a comeback.
Newsomevilles doesn't have the same ring to it, though.
In the Bridge trilogy by Gibson, the golden gate bridge ends up becoming a massive favela city complete with it's own shops, restaurants, and plumbing. I didn't expect to see the beginnings of something like that in my lifetime though.
