The T2T consortium has sequenced and assembled the complete human Y chromosome, filling in missing gaps in the reference sequence. The new sequence includes additional gene families and reveals the structure of the Yq12 region. The T2T-Y sequence has been combined with the CHM13 genome to create a comprehensive reference sequence for all 24 human chromosomes. 🎉
