What you're describing is not biblical wifely submission.

I submit to my employer, but that doesn't mean I don't have input or have any personal pizazz.

The Church is supposed to be submissive to Jesus. The saints (i.e., the best examples), even the women, are not boring deadheads, but have tremendously unique and colorful personalities.

Belittling or mischaracterizating Christian submission is like making fun of Jesus for saying "Blessed are the meek." We can't pour our worldly meanings into his words.
