This was a hugelbed I made here donkeys years ago. I also had no money when I first moved in so I sunk concrete slabs into the ground to act as the sides.
The whole garden was this thick heavy clay with chunks of limestone in it so it's good to see this rich black soil has formed way further down than I was expecting. Time to reuse everything and make it more aesthetically pleasing.

Just amazed how deep it goes! That bit didn't even have any plants on it just dried out oxidised soil just like that clay clump. The house is much less muddy too as I am not bringing in half the garden every time I plant something! 🙂
