I have a raspi i connect to that is in lan of the workstation i want to wake up but it works very sporadically.

Of course when i do it while at location (ssh to raspi, execute command) it works somewhat more predictable. I used to just leave everything running but the complete uter incompetence of morons in EU make it an unnecessarily expensive sport if i'm not using it all the time. It boots into busybox so i can ssh and unlock luks if it power cycles but reality is that every time i'm away from it for several months something inevitably fails in a way that is unrecoverable

And I thought this happens only to me. I was adding more and more devices to improve resilience (and living with those insane electricity costs), but the setup keept failing in new and unexpected ways every single time. It worked fine while on site for extended periods of time, but leaving it on its own while traveling resulted in unrecoverable systems every time. Basically, I'm back at using the cloud for some services and given up on self hosting. I'm not talking about data loss as at least the backups always worked, but too many systems and hardware have suffered bad faith.
