My children play out front. A stranger approaches with malicious intent, my "child killer" mauls the would-be kidnapper. Humanity is improved.

Dogs are very territorial and pack animals. A well trained dog that is viciously loyal to my pack is an asset, not a liability. The same as a wife with a rifle.
