I’m not disagreeing with this, and I’m not sure that there’s a way to unwind this reality without great pain, but…

Half of the market that sets an iPhone’s USD price today is driven by monetary expansion and resulting devaluation of the USD that has been required to maintain the US/China trade imbalance.

Issue with this is the fact that when Apple DID manufacture everything in America (per Steve Jobs' mandate in the early 80s and mid-to-late 90s), their products were actually CHEAPER than the competition while being better in both performance and quality.

We have Tim Cook to "thank" for the gookification of Apple's manufacturing process, and Nixon to thank for the overall shift.
