i highly doubt that happens. it's probably not that much of a large deal in the grand scheme of things, since even though it was a requirement to accept bitcoin, you always heard stories that most places didn't accept bitcoin in El Salvador anyways. so the whole requirement going away sounds like a nothing burger since the requirement was never enforced. for optics though, it looks like defeat. that's the only concerning part. as for why they need the money? no clue.

Bitcoin being legal tender in El Salvador opened the door to it being considered a currency in other countries. I don't think the IMF liked that idea.

why would the IMF have a problem with it? just because it devalues their predatory financial colonialism? so sensitive.
