“Open protocol with invite codes”

i think until at-protocol is at scale, its not an apple to apple comparison between nostr and bluesky. maybe damus or iris to bluesky might be closer comparison. On Nostr, we already have multiple clients and relays that users can select if they are not happy - and its an ecosystem of digital and financial applications that's being built here

but having said that, i want at-protocol to win. i want nostr to win. i want the people to win - we are far from being at a competition with each other at this stage

Disagree. Ethereum has confused many people about what bitcoin is and has hampered adoption (regardless of the “everything is good for bitcoin” people).

I think bluesky will be the same; luckily, because it’s not money the opportunity costs of using both are not so apparent, but they’re there nonetheless (people don’t perceive attention as a scarce resource as much as time/money)

It’s true. Ethereum has bee bitcoin’s parasite, holding it back in a significant way.

Yea, right now it’s 1 client 1 protocol and closed up, so it’s very centralised. I think the original goal was for at-protocol to have an open source system right ? Similar to Nostr just diff tech - I’m hoping that will be translated. It is very dangerous now and I think we are all calling it out on good intentions

Exactly
