Everyone who doesn't want base level clean water, electricity, and shelter available to everyone on the planet, if only to allow equal footing for all humans, is a piece of shit.

The question isn't whether one wants that.

It is rather about how one would go about acquiring and allocating resources towards that end and how one would pay for that.

Calling procurement of basic necessities for life to exist, if not flourish, 'socialism' is a real shitty way to describe what needs to be done.

These service provided should not be profit centers under private ownership.

The resources required for the procurement of these basic necessities cannot be acquired through coercion. It will be better if they are acquired through voluntary action and positive sum relationships. The latter will ensure better outcomes for all, while the former results in corruption, inefficiencies and scarcity. If the former is what you want, that is Socialism.

Profit is not immoral. It is moral.
