I think the future will have way more clients. We’re in the “notes” part of Nostr and we have yet to get into “and other stuff”. With gossip I’m noticing far more control over how data gets related than I have in any other client. That already sets it apart. Also, it has a subject line? I don’t think Damus displays that line though lol
Discussion
For sure! I guess I didn’t know what Gossip was. I think there are definitely many more applications for the Nostr protocol than just a Twitter-like client. Just seems like most of the clients I’ve seen are trying to be Twitter rn. Which I guess its so early we’re nowhere close to having a “winner”
That’s true! And I think this is still going for a similar experience but the advantage in key security and relay management seems steps above the web clients. Definitely early still but I imagine there will be several “winners” like gmail, outlook, etc. are for email today
some different app examples examples I can think of off the top of my head:
- Video streaming service (Decentralized YouTube)
- Tutoring/educational/coding support apps (Similar to Chegg.com/stackoverflow)
