I feel kind of bad for the people who invested in alternative tech right before #Nostr.

Locals, etc.

That came to mind, but I didn't mention it since #Nostr hasn't really overtaken that yet as far as I can see, but I think it will over the next several years. Locals, however, offers a use case that has essentially been obliterated by Nostr, in my opinion. I see no point in it now, especially if people can create paid only relays/communities on Nostr.

Agreed 👍. And Locals is an extra platform to manage. Who needs the hassle?

Nostr can also easily replace Patreon and BuyMeACoffee

Easily. BMAC had it's place and I appreciate it I guess, but time to move forward. Although, they could become zap friendly and stick around I think.

Am sure there is a way to auto-charge people like Patreon and BMAC do

Probably. It's impossible for me to keep up with everything being worked on. It's bananas in the best way.

Well, let's just say I hate services like Stripe and PayPal ... they're relics of Web 2.0. Soon, they won't have a place on the Internet

Me too. Hate them.

Excellent observation! Locals is redundant now. #Nostr can easily replace Patreon and BuyMeACoffee as well

And, Rumble in a few years

They can change out their tech stack to Nostr and fiddle with their business models.

Sure, if they're smart. Unfortunately, I think many will just dumbly fade away without realizing what happened.
