Crazy. Had work Christmas lunch today with a group of 7 people, they're all sharp and smart. 3 of them discussed inflation (while everyone else listened) with an example "5 years ago, coffee was $4 now in 2023 its $6.50, it's still the same coffee, what's changed?" Few had opinions that sounded "smart" but were way off the mark. I wanted to say "the money is broken" and held my tongue.
