I will no longer be recommending Thorium browser.
Discussion
I saw Chris recommend that browser a few weeks back and I thought it seemed fishy then. I love small FOSS projects but I'd never choose one for something as critical as my browser.
Same reason I don't understand why people use linux distros by small teams/single developers and are then surprised when their daily driver OS gets rugged (see Solus for example).
how does that affect the useage of this browser?
does it have an ad blocker included ?
the communist imbecile code monkey for bitcoin luke dazjiler or so is much crazier. why would it matter? do you not buy bitcoin because of this censoring luke idiot dog muzzler clown guy?
I’m not using or recommending anyone use the browser because of multiple issues with the product - it not being regularly updated, and the author being involved in some funny business that he apparently mixes with the browser work.
I’m not involved with or interested in anything to do with Luke or bitcoin mining. Not something I’m involved in or have any reason to form an educated opinion on.
Is it knowing the open source code is good, and also knowing the dev is normal required? (How to vet devs?)
If I had to guess Chris’ line of thinking, it’s probably that more people actively involved would have caught this sooner and possibly diluted the odds of stuff this questionable being included with a non-related project.
Thanks for the info. I saw it recommended also, but never got around to trying it out.
