With #lightning we haven’t recreated a custodian and IOU-based system because of a physical impracticality as we did with the banking system to transact in gold. No, instead we did it because of a digital bottleneck. Ironically, the #Bitcoin maxis were right to call Bitcoin digital gold. It has the similar property of hard money while carrying comparable drawbacks calling for analogous solutions. Can’t we do better?
