People often mix up using Linux as a home residential computer, with doing command line cloud services.

Yes, learning the terminal and running services requires knowledge. But just using the graphical environment like a regular home PC with something like Mint, is barely different than Windows. You DON'T need to know the terminal to use Linux for a home PC.

When I first switched, I had zero clue what to expect. But knew any struggle would be better than Win10. Was all GUI for a few years, and still use it for most things, but however one does it, its worth it.

I dove into using the TUI a bit here and there.

Now, I want to use a TUI almost everywhere.

I've used it when its put in front of me for whatever reason, but not my fave way to go.

Like using Android 🤷‍♂️

Few use Termux or SSH on mobile Linux, why should they do so on a Desktop.

If not for yourself, let your children learn Linux at home. Allow them to use only a computer with Linux since we cannot change what they have to use at schools (it is Windows for obvious reasons). They will perfectly excel in both no problem. They are after the kids with everything, they don't care so much about the adults that will die in 30-40 years from now.

And all computers are capable of running Linux, no excuse that you would have to buy a new computer! 😁
