The word 'Jihad' encompasses almost any effort to make personal and social life conform with God's guidance, such as an internal struggle against evil in oneself.

Sounds very much like your definition of true Christianity.

Jihad Alakbar which is the bigger war that is the one you fight with yourself, your desires.

Jihad Alasghar the smaller war that you fight others, the out worldly one.
