Vivaldi browser has some cool features, and unlike Kiwi (that you should stop using! ⚠️), it's still getting updates.

BUT it's not open-source, development is quite opaque while largely benefitting from Chromium codebase (and you have to search for those credits, it's really not obvious at first glance).

Their weird "philosophy" doesn't stop here.

Jon von Tetzchner (Co-Founder/CEO of Vivaldi) made a few things very clear, 1 year ago.

- he hates #Bitcoin #Freedom and #Energy

- he's absolutely clueless about all this

- he's more convinced by the cLiMaTe EmErGeNcY BS and other propaganda

We agree on one thing: There's thousands of pure scams, and they're called cRyPtOcUrReNcIeS.

Putting #Bitcoin in the same basket and lecturing people from a position of complete ignorance is pathetic.

Some arrogant clowns 🤡 will learn their lesson the hard way, and they deserve it.

I ditched Firefox and Thunderbird for a while due to Mozilla first saying they were going to filter misinformation in the browser and then their asinine stance on #Bitcoin. I used Vivaldi for a while not realizing it's partially closed. More recently I've gone crawling back to Mozilla, at least the code is open. I won't donate to then again until they start accepting Bitcoin.

I realized if I stop using software based on an ideological disagreement, I soon won't have any software to use. With software, open source is the #1 priority for me even over the developer's stance on Bitcoin it would seem.
